Brighton Against Fox Hunting

Fox hunting is legally banned in England & Wales by the Hunting Act 2004, the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002 in Scotland

Despite this the Hunts continue to exploit 'exemptions' in the law ie; calling their activity 'Trail Hunting' or 'pest control' - which legally is only allowed 2 hounds, or in Scotland claiming they are 'flushing to guns' when there are no guns in the right place, or even in the area, all so they can continue with this barbaric practice.

Wild Life by birthright are supposed to live their lives in peace, yet throughout extended periods of the year they regularly face exhaustion, injury and death, from being chased, dug from their homes, stolen from their mothers, and killed by dogs under the watchful eye of humans who call this activity 'Sport'

Our Aim
  • Raise awareness through outreach and engagement, that Hunts still target foxes

  • Raise awareness that the police and the criminal justice system are not  enforcing the ban, even when witnessing or presented with undeniable proof that hunts are enabling and allowing their hounds to kill foxes

  • Raise awareness of the work of hunt saboteurs to save foxes lives; often facing adversity and aggression

  • Seek to bring about a robust law that will leave no room for ‘mistake kills’ as we are calling for a total ban on hunting with the use of hounds
